Temperature Reading

Temperature Readings legitimize our whole human being, and support healthy group processes, like the one for developing this social network.

Temperature Readings can facilitate congruent communication and assists individuals in becoming more open. Temperature readings work well for:

  • Discussing that which is human in all of us and hardly ever gets talked about directly
  • Making human contact with (new) members in a group
  • Facilitating connection and bonding between group members
  • Making the covert more overt
  • Assessing emotional climate
  • Demonstrating individual and group processes are valued
  • Detoxifying and transforming toxic situations early
  • Transforming closed systems in open systems
  • Maintaining open systems
  • Raise self-esteem
  • Changing rules, values and patterns of communication

A temperature reading consists of five parts that can easily be recognized as a "natural" energy choreography. Set the context properly, and as facilitator you can probably lean back:

  • Appreciations Rock!
  • Complaints with recommendations for change
  • Puzzles, Gossip and Rumors
  • New Information
  • Hopes and Wishes

Appreciations:
Nynke, I appreciate you for your courage and creative spark that ignites new possibilities. Thank you for this site!

New information:
I clicked on your "Donate Now" and bought a couple of bricks - in honor of you and Stephen Buckbee for your reaching out to the internet communities. Thanks to Steve and Nynke!

Puzzles:
Why isn't there a "tip jar" for this site? I know that Nynke's pockets aren't deep. In April I heard a podcaster talk about his tip jar - kind of like at bars, restaurants and Starbucks. If people could add a buck in the jar it might make this site sustainable/ 20-25 people a month? Hey, for me this is less than lunch money! Can this be done?

Hopes and Wishes:
This grows and prospers beyond our wildest imaginations - (ok, maybe a bit further :)

Dear Soh Lian Sie, I am not sure what you mean by "why isn't my music for members?"

Hi Soh Lian Sie, I was surprised as we did have audio functionality, but apparently in Ning's move to independence, the audio playlist function disappeared. But I checked the apps and found these: http://satirnetwork.ning.com/opensocial/application/list?category=A...

Does that help? If not, let me know and we'll figure something (else) out.
