Virginia was my friend and teacher for 20 years. I attended 4 month long residential seminars with her. I have licenses in MFT and in Clinical Social Work and supervise students. I am an Adjunct Faculty of Antioch University/Seattle where I teach the Satir Model. I have taught also in Canada and Eastern Europe. I have had a private counsellg practice for more than 30 years.
My interests/hopes and wishes.
My interests are my 3 children, 6 grandchildren and their partners. I also have a hope that the first of the Satir Institutes, The Northwest Satir Institute will regenerate.
Nancy is having some trouble placing her comments and sent me and email with this information about Satir Institiute of the Northwest:
"The Northwest Satir Institute was the first of the Institutes, incorporated
State and federally non-profit before Virginia left us. Members were from WA
and B.C. 10 years ago it split into SIP and NSI. The latter has been
struggling since. Hence my wish on my page in the new network. We are located in the Seattle area and listed on the VSGN web site. So please mark it on the map as you wish. "
Hmmm. re-energizing is tough. Mostly you have to keep communication and contact flowing.
You might invite people you know in the Seattle area that are interested to join this network and then start a Group for Northwest where you could post messages.
You might consider trying to host a meeting where peole can come, have coffee or tea and talk about their experiences (for local contact)
You might do both :))
You might write about your experiences in that first and founding Institute and post that here and elsewhere.
I find that people are interested in the stories and histories. I am!
I imagine you have a lot of stories to tell.
Please let me know if some of this makes sense to you.
While I am busy now, I would like to call you and talk in January. Let me know if you think this would work for you.
