- About me
- I’ve spent over 20 years studying, practicing, and helping individuals and organizations learn and apply powerful skills for dealing with human system issues such as leadership, communication and change. I have taught these skills to hundreds of people--in public workshops, conference seminars, at my firm’s annual Leaders’ Forum, and during my consulting engagements. My book Powerful Project Leadership, with Satir as its foundation, provides concepts and skills rarely taught to management and business leaders. I am a certified trainer for the Enriching Your Relationship with Yourself and Others Program and a member of the Virginia Satir Global Network.
- My Satir experience/work
- I met Virginia in 1986. She was in St. Louis, MO leading a seminar called Family: Impact in Relationships, Workplace, & Community. I had already been introduced to her work in 1983 by Jerry Weinberg. 1986 was my first time seeing her in person. She made quite an impression on me that day in 1986. I've taken lots of Satir training since then mostly with Jean McLendon and other wonderful teachers who were taught by Virgina. I am a member of the Satir/Houston Collaboration Group. I attended the 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 annual conferences. I was co-program chair for the 2008 World Conference in Denver.
- My interests/hopes and wishes.
- I love doing our work with my princepessa, Eileen, and want to keep doing that. I enjoy gourmet cooking and fly-fishing for trout. I have a Santa Claus collection.
We have 3 wonderful adult children. Amy is an attorney in San Diego, Steve is a structural engineer in Kansas City, MO, and Jeff is a molecular biologist in Springfield, MO. Steve is recently married and his bride, Robin, is wonderful too. Jeff is recently engaged and his fiancee, Angie, is very special.
I hope to keeping learning and sharing the magic of the Satir Model in the world and keep adapting it to other contexts.
